How we work
An anniversary usually gathers people who have not been in one room for years, and that is the real subject. The ceremony is short; the afternoon of children, grandchildren and old friends is what the photographs are for.
For a couple who married before photography was affordable, this is often the first proper set of pictures they have together. We treat it that way, and we take the portraits unhurried.
What we photograph
The couple, together and alone, without the stiffness of a studio sitting. The gathering around them. The generations in one frame, which is the photograph the family will enlarge.
If there are old wedding photographs in the house, show us. Restaging one deliberately, fifty years on, is worth more than any pose we could invent.
Booking
Two to four weeks is usually enough. Milestone anniversaries often land in the same season as weddings, so earlier is safer for a date in the winter months.
Tell us who is travelling and when they arrive. Half the value of the day is people being in the same place, and that window is sometimes shorter than the party.
