Older residential streets on high ground, with large plots and mature trees. Those trees are the single thing worth planning around: they give genuinely beautiful dappled shade, and they are also the fastest way to lose a group portrait, because a face in a patch of sun next to a face in shade is a problem no amount of later correction fixes properly.

What we photograph here

Home functions, engagements and family portrait sessions, with occasional editorial work that uses the older architecture directly.

Planning around the place

Shade here is broken rather than even, so we scout the specific compound and settle on two or three positions before anybody is standing in them. Mid-morning and late afternoon both work, and the middle of the day is better spent indoors than trying to find a patch of even light under the trees.
