Weddings, receptions and first birthdays fill most of the calendar here, and an outdoor mandap is a real option rather than a compromise.
Planning around the place
The newer parts of the city were laid out with space, which shows in the venues: room around a hall, parking that holds the guest list, and enough distance to stand back for a group portrait. Newer halls tend to be lit brightly and evenly, which is easy to work with and easy to make look flat, so we bring our own light for the portraits.
